The Secure Storyteller Network (SSN) supports filmmakers working in high-risk environments by providing digital security training, safety protocols and essential resources. Through global partnerships, SSN champions underrepresented voices and encourages the media industry to adopt secure and ethical practices that protect both creators and their stories.

Founded by Kit Hung, SSN was established to defend creative freedom and safeguard those working on the frontlines of storytelling. By equipping filmmakers and content creators with practical security skills, the organisation enables marginalised voices to share their experiences without fear, turning vulnerability into resilience in the face of censorship, surveillance and threats to personal safety.

SSN’s work not only empowers individuals but also strengthens the wider creative community. By fostering safer working practices, it ensures that important stories, often those that challenge power or expose injustice, can be told, preserved and heard. In doing so, SSN is helping to build a more inclusive, ethical and resilient global storytelling landscape.
