More about their enterprise:
Absolute Beginners CIC is a pioneering initiative based in North West London where local 17 to 21-year-olds are paid to learn how to design and create everyday products from waste materials. The project aims to equip young people with future-ready skills while promoting a new approach to sustainable production.
Founded by Tom James, Absolute Beginners CIC was created to empower young people to use radically sustainable methods in the making of everyday products. The initiative provides practical training that prepares participants for meaningful careers while encouraging them to rethink how products are designed and produced in ways that do not harm the planet.
Through hands-on learning and creative experimentation, the programme fosters confidence, problem-solving skills and a sense of purpose. By combining innovation, sustainability and youth empowerment, Absolute Beginners CIC is shaping a new model of production that benefits both people and the environment.
